PERU
Cordillera Blanca | Ausangate & Mariposa - mountaineering expedition
Join us in Peru to climb Mariposa (5,842 m) and Ausangate (6,384 m)
Set in the Cordillera Vilcanota, this expedition links Nevado Mariposa (5,842 m) and Ausangate (6,384 m). The trip begins above the Quechua heartland surrounding Cusco, moving into a remote high-Andean landscape where glaciated peaks, grazing alpacas, and seasonal herding routes define the rhythm of life.
Mariposa is climbed first as a warm-up peak, allowing the team to settle into glacier travel and refine pacing above 5,800 meters before committing to Ausangate, the dominant massif of one of southern Peru’s most powerful mountain regions. This program is suited to climbers with prior snow and ice experience. Join us.
